    Dunton

Dunten Manor (Duntenhof) was a summer manor in Tondi, Tallinn.[1] Today, the area remains at the addresses 82, 84, 86, 88 and 90 of Tondi Street (Duntenstraße, Дунтенская ул.).

In the middle of the 17th century, Kristiine's meadows, or the area between Linnu tee and Mustamäe tee, Endla and Koskla streets, and Pärnu maantee and Tondi street, were divided into 32 meadow plots by order of Queen Kristina of Sweden. The mayor of Tallinn (1688–1696) Jobst Dunte built a summer estate in the area at the end of the 18th century, and the local people soon began to call the summer estate Tondi, and this is how the exciting name became fixed for the entire suburb[2].

The Dunten summer manor, located on the hill named Tondi mäe, also gave its name to Tondi street. The summer mansion was located opposite the current Tondi barracks. 1910–1914. In 2010, a large military camp was built on Tond for the personnel of the Peter the Great sea fortress. Its construction began in 1910, but gained momentum after 1912. The large, two-story, red brick and limestone barracks intended for the Peter the Great sea fortress artillery trail were built after the expropriation of the land of the former Dunten summer estate. The summer mansion itself was demolished in the 1970s, and now only a part of the Tondi park, barely noticeable traces of the former pond and the gardener's house remain[3].
